You need to be more imaginative when choosing your homemade face masks in the summer this helps keep your skin fresh and alive. Although our skin naturally helps us keep cool thanks to perspiration, but to keep your skin rejuvenated and well hydrated it is better to opt for a natural facial mask for freshness.

Homemade Masks

I chose the following face masks which are 100% natural to pamper your skin. For best results, apply to clean, dry skin after a shower and let the mask sit for 15-30 minutes. For a really cool spa treatment, stretch out on a large beach towel and apply the facial mask on your neck and décolleté, and if you want to apply on your whole body.

Natural Masks Freshness For The Summer

Whip one of these homemade mask recipes, relax like a princess while enjoying a spa treatment - you'll love it!

1. Mask with cucumber:

Cucumber is a natural ingredient widely used in anti-aging facial treatments. It is ideal for soothing and refreshing your skin while moisturizing it at the same time.

Method: Wash and thinly slice a cooled cucumber into small slices. Apply/arrange the slices on the entire surface of your face, even above your closed eyes. Relax and let the cool soak in your skin for about ten minutes before rinsing with fresh water.

2. Aloe Vera Face Mask and Yogurt / Curd:

Aloe vera is a rich source of enzymes, amino acids and vitamins A, B, C and F and so has the ability to refresh, moisturize and soothe irritated or sunburned skin. While aloe calms your skin, yogurt/curd contains lactic acid that helps remove dirt and dead skin cells for thorough cleansing.

Method: Mix about 4 tablespoons of aloe vera gel with two tablespoons of yogurt/curd to make a spreadable dough. Apply carefully, and coat a thick layer on the face and neck. Let stand for 10-15 minutes, then rinse with cold water.

3. Menthe And Turmeric Homemade Face Mask:

If heat is the cause of rashes on your skin, consider using turmeric. Turmeric has been used in ayurvedic medicines for aging and is well known for its antibacterial properties. It has properties to destroy bacteria causing pimples. Mix with mint and you'll have a comforting skincare product, especially on hot summer days.

Method: Mix a handful of fresh mint leaves with about 50ml of water to make a thin paste. Add a teaspoon of turmeric powder and mix well to form a spreadable dough. Apply and coat a thick layer on the face and neck. Let stand for 10-15 minutes, then wash with a mild cleanser to remove persistent odors of turmeric. Be careful when using this mask, turmeric can leave stains on your clothes.

Natural Beauty Tip: If in the end, you would have extra mint leaves, put them in a glass of cold water and add honey and lemon juice or fresh lime for a refreshing summer spritzer!

4. Avocado Mask:

Well known for its rich nutrient content, this fruit is a perfect ingredient to restore the vitality and hydration of your parched skin due to the scorching heat of summer. The "good fats" found in avocados are also beneficial when applied topically.

Method: Chew half a ripe avocado (eat the remaining half in your lunch) and mix well with 2 teaspoons of honey. Apply carefully and coat a thin layer on the face and neck. Relax for about 10-15 minutes, then rinse with cold water.

Natural Beauty Tip: For best results, cool the avocado first to provide your skin with more freshness.

5. Oat Mask

Oats have long been used to soothe skin problems.

Method: Grind 1/3 cup of oatmeal in a food processor until you have a powdery consistency. Mix in 1 teaspoon of organic honey and 2 teaspoons of whole organic milk.
